I like this blog idea..

Ms. Jen, my nurse from the NICU at Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas, CA.

Hi..it's Van here. I figured it's time for me to figure this whole blog thing out. I have so many people I want to say hi to. I know it's a bit ambitious for a 2 month old but my momma and papa say I am special.

Today I am 11 weeks old. It's gone by really fast and I am getting bigger and bigger by the minute. I am even starting to give momma and papa a break at night. Last night I slept for 4 1/2 hours. It's always fun to see who stumbles into the nursery at night. They have some pretty crazy hair-do's. Although poppa's is much shorter now that he donated his hair to Locks of Love. I hope somebody gets a pretty blonde wig. Sometimes momma and papa fall asleep when they are rocking me...but that's okay...I figure they are tired from a long day at work and taking care of me. I like the new mobile in my crib. Momma bought it with Grandma Star a few weeks ago. It has creatures from the rain forest; a dragon fly, monkey, toucan, and frog. It makes cool sounds too. I like the cricket noises best. Momma has already started to teach me about animals and bugs. In fact, my favorite thing to do in the morning is watch all of the birds in the backyard. We have a hummingbird feeder next to the window. Hummingbirds sure do drink a lot...I would too if I could live on sugar water and nectar. Momma tells me that's not good for babies so I will just stick with my formula for now. I like to watch the finches splash in the fountain. It's nice to know everyone, even birds take baths everyday. I like bath time now. At first I had to take baths in a little tub which I DID NOT like. Now, momma or papa take one with me in the big tub. I still don't like getting out though...it's too cold.

Did I tell you about my nanny, Ms. Kellie? She is so pretty and smells good too. She was a friend of one of mommy's clients. She comes twice a week so Mommy can work on her medical bills and go to her doctor appointments. I like Ms. Kellie a lot. She is going to school to be a teacher. She likes to encourage me to try new things, like look in the mirror and hold things with my hands. She says I have a good head on my shoulders...I think that means I can hold my head up.

I miss my cousins, Kirra and Delaney. They are in Hawaii on vacation. Poppa says we will go there someday to play golf. He has big plans for me and golf. He went to the US Open last week with Grandma Star, GB (Grandpa Burb) and his buddy Dave. They sure did have fun watching Tiger and Rocco. I was rooting for Rocco at home with Momma.

Today I get some more shots so I don't get sick. I don't like them too much. It makes me and momma cry. We might stop by the hospital where I was born. Papa says they saved Momma's life. It's no wonder everybody cries when we visit their. In fact, they are going to present Momma's case to a bunch of doctors next month at a special meeting. We are all going so everyone can see how Momma has recovered. I can't wait to see everyone especially Ms. Jen. She took excellent care of me while Momma was in the ICU. I like her voice, she is from England and makes me laugh with her stories about her dogs. I hope one day we can get another dog. I have heard a lot about our late dog Bella. She passed away in February right before I was born. Papa says it will be sooner than later.

That's all for now.

Love to you all,
Van
